We have been trading for a while though only finally took the plunge to go full time with this business earlier this year and continued doing what we had been doing and keeping the prices the same throughout this period.
Now that we are looking to further our collections and start giving everyone more choice, especially as we know that the markets our customers sell in are growing rapidly as well, we have had to assess all aspects of the business so that we can keep our strong foundations, keep our customers happy and to continue to grow.
Throughout the past couple of years since we first started selling the value of the pound has been up and down like a yo-yo and as Brexit got ever closed it dropped by quite a large percentage and has unfortunately stayed low. The uncertainty around what is happening with the UK and EU is continuing to make it volatile and so we are currently importing with a pound that is 11% weaker than we started. We have absorbed this, pardon the pun, but cannot sustain this as we continue to grow.
In addition to the currency issues with importing we also have seen postage costs increase between 7-10% and again have not raised our prices to compensate for this. We have continued to absorb these costs and kept our prices lower than they should be to allow us to be sustainable.
Due to the above factors as well as our desire to provide the best service we can we have made the decision to increase our prices with immediate effect, we have been holding off for a few months. We are sorry to have had to do this but we can still promise you that we are the best value and often cheapest for what we stock and offer to our customers. Remember to check like for like as others don't always offer the same sizing. Rest assured, if there is a sustained improvement with our costs then we will pass this back to you, our valued customers.
